A young British mom has died only weeks after her son and grandfather passed away.

Ashley Tomlin (32), from South Shield in England, suffered from the same heart condition that claimed the life of her son, Jak Fada (10), and granddad, James Tomlin.

According to Mirror News, little Jak died in hospital on 6 November from a ruptured heart artery – just six hours after complaining of severe chest.

Jak, who’d been an active little boy and was soccer mad, died just 22 hours after his great-grandfather passed away from the same heart condition.

This past Monday Ashley, who lived with her mom, Jill, lost her life to the exact same illness, The Sun reports.

Jill says she heard her daughter go to the bathroom during the early hours of the morning but when she went in, she found her daughter on the floor having a seizure. She phoned the ambulance but there were nothing paramedics could do for the 32-year-old.

Ashley’s devastated dad, Keith, says he believes that his daughter died of a broken heart.

“It’s the same thing as what’s happened to Jak,” Keith told Chronicle Live. “The main artery has ruptured. The coroner has said it’s like a broken heart. She’d been devastated since Jak died.

“I’m not sure if it’s hereditary or not. The coroner’s office has told us to go to the doctors. I’m going to go tomorrow,” Keith said.

Jak, whose nick-name with among his soccer team-mates was “Captain”, was operated on when he was just three months old after doctors found a hole in his heart. The little boy continued to have check-ups until he was five years old but seemed in good health.

The energetic youngster played goalkeeper for his school team and attended regular training sessions.

Weeks before Ashley passed away, she paid a heartfelt tribute to her son on Facebook. “This was a total shock and out of the blue. We thought the pain in his chest might have been from losing his great-grandad,” she wrote.

“It’s ironic it was his heart, because Jak had the biggest heart. He’s given me the best 10 years of my life.”
