NEWS

North America on Monday witnessed a total solar eclipse, which raced across the continent, thrilling those lucky enough to behold the spectacle through clear skies.

As with all celestial events of this kind, there were some who believed the eclipse would ring in the rapture, which obviously didn't happen. But that didn't make the event any less spectacular.

Sights and sounds of the solar eclipse from different parts of North America.
