Every year, on each of my children's birthdays, I look back and reflect on the years gone by and inevitably replay their births in my mind.

In the case of my daughter, it's not a pleasant memory. The reasons for that are complicated, and involve a premature birth, an emergency C-section and an unpleasant hospital stay, followed by 10 days of visits to the Neonatal ICU before we could take her home.
