For a quick tour through the quintessence of Iceland, look no further than the world's most northerly capital. With a population of 120 000, Reykjavik is by no means a metropolis but it still has plenty of cosmopolitan offerings for the discerning traveller.

It is easy to get a feel of the Viking history of Iceland in the town with its excellent museums and monuments to its past. Added to that, the snow-capped mountains, clean air and tempestuous seas will have you spellbound.

The town is alive, pulsing with excitement that travellers will enjoy. With colourful buildings, raucous nightlife, plenty of hip bars and cafes as well as a thriving art and culture scene - you may find yourself surprised by the Icelandic capital in more ways than one.
