Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are officially full members of BRICS.

The five countries' membership of the bloc became official on 1 January, after their inclusion was agreed to by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa at the 2023 BRICS summit in South Africa.

Argentina was also meant to join BRICS, but the country decided not to after the election of a new government led by President Javier Milei.
